Mr. Howard Eugene Bucklew, age 83, a retire Air Force Master Sergeant,of Woodstock, Georgia, formally of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 06, 2010. He was born in West Milton, Ohio, on August 26, 1927, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Lucille Hughes Bucklew.
He served in the Air Force for more than 20 years serving during World War II, Korean War and the Vietam War. After retiring from the Air Force he worked as a postal carrier and later retired from the US Postal Service.
Mr. Howard Bucklew is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Lucille; wife, Mildred Marie Woolf Bucklew; son, Howard Eugene Bucklew, Jr. and sisters, Mary Greene and Doris Beaseker.
Mr. Howard Bucklew is survived by daughter, Susan Bucklew; son, Shawn Bucklew; niece, Kathy Johnson and nephew, Terry Greene.
Mr. Howard Bucklew funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.
Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery will full military rites conducted by the Brewster Cleveland American Legion Post # 86 honor guard.
The family of Mr. Bucklew will receive friends on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 6-8pm at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
The family is accepting flowers, however; memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, 6852 Belfort Oaks Place, Jacksonville, FL 32216-6241.
