Mr. Howard B. "Dicky" Astin, age 85 of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024.  He was born on May 10, 1939 in Cedartown, Georgia. He was the son of the late Weyman B. and Mayme Barrett Astin.

Mr. Astin is survived by his son, Wesley B. Astin (Tammy); sister, Fay A. Corley; nieces, Monica B. Goss, Tammie Brock, Marion B. Ventulett, and Cindy Vickers; nephew, Tommy Collins; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Astin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Gay Simpson Astin; daughters, Angela Astin and Angel Astin; sisters, Mary Ruth Collins and Shirley J. Mitchell; brothers, Weyman N. Astin, Jr., Norman Douglas Astin, Charles B. Astin, and Dwight S. Astin (Pete); and grandparents, Albert B. and Lydia Astin and John C. and Amanda Barrett.

A memorial service for Mr. Howard B. Astin will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at four o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield and Mr. Gary Martin officiating.

The family of Mr. Astin will receive family and friends on Friday, January 17, 2025 from three o'clock in the afternoon until the memorial service hour at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

The family of Mr. Astin respectfully requests that both food and floral contributions be omitted and that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Cedartown in his honor.
