Obituary

On Nov. 5, 2012 Rev. Dr. Houston (Chip) Roberson passed away in the Leesburg Hospital in Leesburg, Florida after a short illness. He was 60 years old.

He is survived by his widow, Teresa Davis Roberson, three children, Houston "Trey" Roberson and wife Mona, Benjamin Roberson and wife Sarah, and daughter, Claire Roberson; granddaughter, Jasmine Roberson. His parents were the late Houston F. Roberson, Sr. and Syble Brannon; and step-father O.E. Brannon and his wife Wanda. The sisters are Anne Mason and her husband Richard; Holly Brannan; Kathy Howell and husband David. The brothers are Eddie Brannan and wife, Teresa; and the late Bobby Brannan. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dr. Roberson was a 1969 graduate of Cedartown High School. He graduated from the University of Georgia Pharmacy School, Southwestern Baptist Seminary, and received his Doctorate from Southeastern Baptist Seminary.

His great love was preaching and he made numerous trips internationally along with pastorate of four Southern Baptist Churches.

He was a passionate fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, but his greatest passion was for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The memorial service will be Sunday afternoon, Nov. 11th, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 314 Burnett Ferry Rd., Rome, GA at 3:00 pm with Dr. Dale Levan, Rev. Kelly Davis, and Dr. Bob Claytor officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all gifts be sent to the Lottie Moon Christmas fund at Fellowship Baptist Church, 314 Burnett Ferry Rd., Rome, GA 30165.
