Mr. Horace Edward Morgan, age 82, of Cave Spring, passed away Friday March 13, 2015, in a Rome Medical Center.
Mr. Morgan was born July 16, 1932, in Floyd County, a son of the late Clarence Morgan and Lucille Norton Morgan. He was of the Methodist Faith. Mr. Morgan was a retired truck driver for Pet Bakery for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War, he loved gardening and working his yard, Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his son, Greg Morgan, brothers, Harvey Morgan, and Russell Morgan.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte Abernathy Morgan, daughter, Jan (Jeff) Payne, Cartersville; brothers, Herman Morgan, Rome; Robert Morgan, Rome; Jack (Juanita) Morgan, Cave Spring; sisters, Carolyn McKinney, Cave Spring; grandchildren, Courtney (Danny) Verdier, Melissa (Chris) Johnson, Whitney (Eric) Crumley, great grandchild, Abigail Grace Johnson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday March 17, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chris Johnson, and Rev. Douglas Maxwell, officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens, with full military graveside rites conducted by Shanklin-Attaway Post Five Honor Guard of the American Legion.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Tuesday, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jeff Payne, Clint Morgan, Troy Culberson, Marion Carter, Eric Crumbley, and Danny Verdier.
