Mr. Hoke Brock Hamrick, age 62, of Cedartown, passed away February 12, 2006. He was born on October 4, 1943 in Polk County, Georgia.
Brock Hamrick served as a Trooper with the Georgia State Patrol and retired in 1997 after 28 years of distinguished service.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cedartown. Brock graduated from Cedartown High School in 1961. He was a graduate of Gordon Military College and Berry College. Brock was also a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association and a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hoke S. Hamrick.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hamrick of Cedartown; mother, Mary Virginia Brock Hamrick of Cedartown; daughter and son-in-law, Millie Hamrick Saponaro and Anthony Saponaro of Atlanta; son, Robert Brock Hamrick of Cedartown; sister and brother-in-law, Janie Hamrick Jacobs and Delton Jacobs of Columbia, MO and brother and sister-in-law, Gayle Brock Hamrick and Kathy Hamrick of Augusta. Also surviving are nieces, Deborah Elizabeth Haffner and Mary Virginia Hamrick and nephews, Hoke Hamrick Holmes and John Robert Holmes.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 14th from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Gammage Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, February 15th at 2:00PM in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Cedartown with Rev. Mark Huffine and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Mr. Hamrick will lie in state one hour prior to the Service at the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are the Georgia State Patrol Honor Guard.
