Mrs. Helen O. Perdue, age 94 of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017. She was born on October 29, 1922 in Cedartown, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Jule and Callie Kelley Odom.
Mrs. Perdue was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crafting and reading a good book. She always wanted to give to others and share her love for literature. She did so by donating the books that she finished to the Hays State Prison Library hoping that others might enjoy the books as she did.
Mrs. Perdue is survived by her daughter, Carole Farr (Michael); son, Robert A. Perdue Jr.; grandchildren, Jeremy Michael Farr, Christi Goddard (Craig), and Sally Parker; and 3 great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Mrs. Perdue is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 42 years Robert A. Perdue Sr.; sisters, Virginia Odom, Willie Harris, Mary Kate Kelley, and Patricia Patterson; daughter-in-law, Glenda Perdue; and grandson, Robert A. Perdue III.
Per Mrs. Perdue's wishes a private family service will be held at a later date, Donald Kelley and Lisa Brooks will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family of Mrs. Perdue will receive family and friends on Friday, July 7, 2017 from two o'clock in afternoon until four o'clock in the afternoon at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The family respectfully requests that floral arrangements be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Hays State Prison Library at, 777 Underwood Dr, Summerville, GA 30747.
