Mrs. Helen Florence Wray Hackney, age 89, of Cedartown, GA passed away Monday, August 15, 2005.
She was born January 9, 1916 in Polk County. Mrs. Hackney was a member of The First Baptist Church, The Triple L Club, and The American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was a retiree of Lockheed-Martin.

Mrs. Hackney is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Marvin Hackney; parents, William Neese Wray and Lily Ida McWhorter Wray; daughter, Helen Lanell Hackney; sisters, Ora Stewart and Nellie Wray; brothers, Hoyt Wray, Hall Wray, and Everett Wray.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jimmy and Nancy Hackney McLendon and Joe and Shelia Hackney Rayburn; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Marie Hackney and Kenneth and Jane Hackney. Eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Helen Florence Wray Hackney will be conducted on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Bower Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Noel Smith, Olin Hackney, Kelly McLendon, Martin West, and Lindsey Stephens.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Heyman Hospice of Rome or Alzheimer's of Greater Atlanta or the charity of your choice.
