Mrs. Hazel Sanders Whitton Philpot, age 92, of Cedartown passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008. She was born June 9, 1916 in Haralson County, Georgia. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Buchanan, GA.

Family members surviving are Husband, Raymond Franklin Philpot; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Sandra Galloway Willis and Spencer Willis, Mary Alyce Hill and Charles Hill; Grandson, Jim Lewis; Granddaughter, Lea Arnold. Ten Great-grandchildren and two Great-Great-grandchildren also survive.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Chambus and Causby Lands Sanders, first Husband, Doyce Whitton; Sister, Jerry Elder Holmes; Brothers, Millard Sanders, Max Sanders, J.C. Sanders, and Greg Sanders.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hazel Sanders Whitton Philpot will be conducted on Friday, July 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Morris and Mr. Howell Sanders officiating. Interment service will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Levoyd Whitton officiating.

Dalfin Whitton, Jimmy Williams, John Sanders, Jerry Whitton, Coy Deaton, and Russ Arnold will be serving as pallbearers.
