Mr. Harvis Russell Smith, age 66, of Centre, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. He was born on April 13, 1945 in Cedartown.

Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Margie Dyer Smith; daughter Rhonda Yates; son, Jeffery Smith; sisters, JoAnn Smith, Geraldine A. Smith, Linda Faye Smith and Deborah Lynn Smith; three grandchildren, Timothy Crowder, Michael Smith and Cory Gilkey and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his father, William Hall Smith.

The funeral service for Mr. Smith will be conducted on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Dyer officiating.

The family of Mr. Smith will receive family and friends on Friday, September 9, 2011 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening and Saturday, September 10, 2011 from one o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

In keeping with Mr. Smith's wishes he will be cremated after the funeral service.

The family of Mr. Smith has requested that flowers please be omitted and to please donate to a charity of your choice.
