Harvey Ray Smith, age 73, of Locust Grove, GA died Friday, March 11, 2016. He was born in Esom Hill, GA to the late Eber Benson and Nannie Mae Hilburn Smith.

Harvey was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was employed as a driver with Overnite Transportation for 35 years. He enjoyed being outside, doing things with family and friends, woodcrafts, grilling, and watching wrestling. He will be remembered as being a devoted husband, loving father, and friend to many.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 48 1/2 years, Glenda Ball Smith; sons, James Terry (Jen Goode) Smith, and Tyler H. Smith all of Locust Grove; his beloved dog, Chipper; and extended family.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Wesley Way United Methodist Church, McDonough, GA with Pastor Kevin Barnes and Pastor Rex Kessler officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
