Mr. Harvey E. Gowens, age 76, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Mr. Gowens was born April 16, 1933 in Centre, Alabama, the son of the late June and Pluma Surrett Gowens. He is also preceded in death by wife of 58 years, Carolyn Jackson Gowens; brothers, Felton Gowens, Harlon Gowens, Randall Gowens; sister, Claira Bills.

Mr. Gowens is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Syconda and Dell Mullinax, Sharon and Joseph Wilkie; grandchildren, Nikki Mullinax, Joshua Mullinax, Stacy Watters, Scotty Lockridge; great-grandchildren, Kailyn Watters and Bryson Watters. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Guy Hill, JeAnnette and Emory Moon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Helen Gowens, Bobby and Betty Gowens, and Travis and Helen Gowens also survive.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 6th, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jerald Eaves and Rev. Elgin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Buster Johnson, Bart Gowens, Kevin Gowens, Dirk Hill, Darrell Hill, and Charles Jackson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 6th from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
