Mr. Harvey "Shorty" Arp, age 80, of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was born on April 30, 1937 in Centre Alabama. He was the son of the late Jasper and Maggie Alexander Arp.
Shorty is survived by his daughters Betty Arp Clonts (Allen), and Elaine Garner (Chad); sons Terry Arp (Angie) and Michael Arp (Marie); sisters Sarah Woody and Helen Cushin; his brother Eugene Arp; his 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Arp is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Mae Woody Arp; his parents Jasper and Maggie Alexander Arp; brothers, Marshall Arp, Howard Arp, Alvie Arp, and Hudon Arp; sisters, Hazel Bea and Geraldine Highfield.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Arp will be conducted on Monday, June 26, 2017 at two o'clock in afternoon at the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Redding and Rev. John Redding officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Arp will receive family and friends on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jamie Mosley, Jimmy Ingram, Chad Patterson, Brent Arp, Kenny Brogdon, Michael Lamar Schmidt, Larry Woody, and Chris Clonts. Trenton Garner and Trista Garner will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
