Obituary

Mr. Harold L. Jolly age 75, of Tuscaloosa, died January 20, 2008, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services were held 2 P.M. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Heritage Funeral Home with Neal Huggins officiating. Burial followed in the Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

He was preceded in Death by his father, Homer Jolly; his mother, Jeanie Mae Jolly; his brothers, Raymond Jolly and Russell Jolly; his sisters, Diane Morris and Evelyn Meadows.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtice Manning Jolly; his daughter, Carol Jolly White(Steve); his Sons, Alan Lance Jolly(Laura), Jeffery Scott Jolly(Mary), and Thomas Lee Jolly; his sisters; Katheryn Kerr, Virginia Hilburn, and Jean Sharp; his brothers, Homer Jolly, John David "Bubba" Jolly and Richard Jolly; his grandchildren, Tara Shaffer, Tyler Jolly, Mallory Jolly, Johanna Jolly, Trevor Jolly, Cameron Prins Riley Prins, Sydney White, and Whitney White and Great Grandson Damien Shaffer.

Harold grew up in Cedartown where he met Myrtice Manning. They have been married since 1954 and then moved to Tuscaloosa. While in Tuscaloosa, he worked for The News for fourty years. Harold loved his family and his other home in Gulf Shores. He devoted his retirement to working as a volunteer with the blind of Tuscaloosa and "piddlin" around the house. Harold spent all of his life working with the Boy Scouts of America in Cedartown and Tuscaloosa. Troop 89 always had a special place in his heart where he used his skills as an Eagle Scout to help young boys grow into men. Harold left this world in peace and is singing with the angels.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Jolly, Trevor Jolly, Charlie Morris, Andrew Shaffer, Barry Sharp,Tim Outlaw, Kenney Jolly, Neal Jolly and Greg Outlaw.

Honorary pallbearers are the people from The Tuscaloosa News, Cherry Wood Circle neighborhood, Jolly Heating and Air, Barbara Jordan, Mary Cicero, Jean Moore. Rob Hurston, the congregation of Northwood Church of Christ, the special ladies at Hospice of West Alabama, and Troop 89 of Alberta.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
