Obituary

Miss Grace Aline Gossett was called home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, August 29, 2007.

Grace was devoted to her family and friends and assisted her parents and siblings over the years in numerous ways. Grace was born November 10, 1910 in Floyd County and lived on the farm that is now the site of Georgia Highlands College and the South Floyd County Industrial Park.

Grace graduated from Cave Spring High School in the class of 1928 and moved to Atlanta. Grace received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia State College and earned a Bachelor of Law degree from the Atlanta Law School in the Class of 1942.

She retired from Laidlaw Publishing Company in 1975, at age 65, after a lengthy period of service. Grace worked for many years as a part-time sales associate with Rich's Department Store beginning when Lenox Mall was constructed. She also managed apartment complexes and rental units in her spare time.

Grace moved to Cedartown in 1998 and lived at Plantation South for several years. She was transferred in June 2007 to Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehab Center.

Grace was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Philip in Atlanta.

Grace was the daughter of the late Allie Clayton Gossett and Irma Ezzell Gossett. She was preceded in death by brothers, Sidney Gossett and Robert Gossett.

Miss Grace Gossett is survived by sisters, Mabel Dooley, Mildred Gossett, and Ruth Gunter; brother, Earl Gossett; nieces, Martha Miner and Barbara Porterfield; nephews, Gary Gossett, William Gunter and Larry Dooley. Eight great nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, September 1, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Heaton officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until
11:00 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ben Casey, Rob Monroe, Larry Dooley and Jesse Stallings.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Commission, c/o Mr. Henry Brown, 332 Lakeview Dr., Cedartown, GA 30125.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Miss Grace Aline Gossett.
