Mr. Gordon "Buddy" Deaton, Jr. age 71 of Silver Creek passed away Monday, February 20, 2006. He was born on December 31, 1934 in Polk County. Mr. Deaton was an avid gardener.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Garrard; father, Gordon Deaton, Sr.; step son, Donald Venable, Sr.
Mr. Deaton is survived by wife, Gracie Mobbs Deaton of Silver Creek; daughter, Tammy Threet of Silver Creek; daughter and son-in-law Kathy Cason and Travis Cason of Silver Creek; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Deaton and Dottie Deaton of Lewisport, Kentucky; Terry Deaton and Sherry Deaton of Rome; step daughter and step son-in-law; Reba Howard and Jack Howard of Silver Creek; and step son and step daughter-in-law, Tyrone Howell and Connie Howell of Silver Creek. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, February 26th at 2:00PM in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Rampley and Rev. Kirby Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 25th from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Gammage Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Dwayne Cason, Jason Deaton, Corey Deaton, Aaron Deaton, Daniel Deaton and Heath Deaton. Honorary Pallbearers are Donny Venable and Eric Luallen.
