Mrs. Glenora McKelvey Carter, age 86, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009.

Mrs. Carter is survived by Son and Daughter-in-law, James J. Carter, Jr., and Kathy F. Carter; Grandchildren, Cristen Carter Story and Kelly Carter Brown; Great-Grandchildren, James Llewellyn Story IV, Sophia Kathlene Shumate, and Carter Alexander Story; a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her husband, James Julian Carter, Sr., and parents.

The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bob Hoffmann and Rev. Britt Brown Madden, Jr. officiating. The interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers are Jamie Story, Kevin Brown, Paul Pitkins, Olin Hackney, Ron Adam, and Floyd Murphy.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, 201 Wissahickon Ave, Cedartown, GA 30125 or The Samaritan House, 302 Wissahickon Ave., Cedartown, GA 30125.
