Mrs. Glenda L. Roy of Cedartown passed away on Friday, October 2nd, 2015 at age 88. She was born on August 25, 1927, in Vernon, Texas. She was the daughter of the late George and Chessie Chisum Wilkerson. Mrs. Roy was an active member of the World View Baptist Church and of the Adult Ladies Bible Class therein.

Mrs. Roy is survived by her son, Dennis Wayne Newby (Jackie); daughter-in-law, Vickie Newby; grandchildren, Billy and Shannon Newby, Christy and Doug Corley, and Hannah and Nick Smith; great grandchildren, Rearden and Kieran Newby, Pierce Corley, and Peyton Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Glenda Roy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jerry Roy; husband, Crayton Newby; son Monty Ray Newby; sisters Mildred Wilkerson Godfrey, Geraldine (Dink) Wilkerson Godfrey, Minnie Laura Wilkerson, and Georgia Mae Wilkerson Cobb.

The funeral service for Mrs. Glenda L. Roy will be conducted on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at four o'clock in the afternoon at the Gammage Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Larry Conner officiating.

The family of Mrs. Glenda L. Roy will receive family and friends on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from two o'clock in the afternoon until the service time at Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Billy Newby, Doug Corley, Chris Shiftlet, Pete Garcia, Eric Venable, and Dustin Sorrells.

The Family of Mrs. Roy will be accepting flowers, as well as donations to the American Cancer Society or the World View Baptist Church in honor of her memory.
