Ms. Gladys Alred Byers, age 84, of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014. She was born on August 2, 1929 in Piedmont, Alabama to the late Newt Alred and Minnie Angie Stephens Alred.

Ms. Byers is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jo Case (Ralph), Rita Byers Carter, Duane Byers-Park, Rhonda Lynn Murphy; son, Christopher W.H. Byers; brothers, Bill Alred, Charles Alred; eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Ms. Byers is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mr. Howard Byers; sisters, Cleo Morris, Eloise Little; brothers, Forrest Alred, J.W. Alred, Buddy Alred, and great grandchild, Khloey Allen.

The funeral service for Ms. Byers will be conducted on Monday, January 20, 2014 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Stephens officiating.

The family of Ms. Byers will receive family and friends on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from six o'clock to eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Jeremiah Murphy, Fielding Carter, Chuck Case, Tony Case, Alex Byers, and Brody Byers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brad Allen, David Little, and Charlie Little.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Ms. Gladys Alred Byers.
