Mrs. Gina Wood Jackson, age 52 of Cedartown, passed to eternal life on April 12, 2016. She was born on June 23, 1963 in Cedartown, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Dewey Bert Wood and Judith Carroll Wood.
Mrs. Jackson was a lifelong resident of Cedartown and she was a 1981 graduate of Cedartown High School where she was an avid basketball player. She worked for many years at Arrow Shirt Factory. For the past eleven and a half years she was an employee of the United States Postal Service where she was a rural route carrier. She enjoyed her job and posted many pictures of the beauty she saw in God's Creations along her route. She made an impact with those she worked with by being a wonderful friend or mother figure to those who needed it. She was an active member of Valley View Baptist Church in Cedartown. She lived a life of serving the Lord. She was well-known and well-loved by the community. Gina's whole world was her family. Her greatest memories resolved around spending time with her children and being the best G'Mama to her precious grandchildren. Whether it was at the lake or in her backyard, it didn't matter; as long as she was with her family she was happy. Those that knew her will always remember her joyous laughter and her blunt honesty.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her beloved husband, Hollis Jackson; sons, Matt Wood (Dana), Derrick Hatch (Megan); grandchildren, Gunner and Graylin Hatch, Makayla and Gage Harrelson; brother, Skipper Wood; sister, Lisa Dale Allen; step-mother, Ann Wood Nelson; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Jackson (Rita), Jackie Jackson (Mary), Jerry Jackson (Sherry), J.J. Jackson (Susan); sister-in-law, Joann Porter; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other family and close friends also survive.
