Obituary

Rev. Gerald Owen Sloman, age 88 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019. He was born on November 28, 1930 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Clarence and Irene Coalson Sloman.

Rev. Sloman is a United States Army Veteran.  He retired with 40 years from GEO Specialty Chemical Company.

Mr. Sloman is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Pilgrim (Lamar), Tracy Clemons (Jim) and Teresa Treglown (Mark); son, David Sloman (Serena); six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.

Rev. Sloman is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine Gilliam Sloman; and brothers, Bobby Cline Sloman, Clark Sloman and Boyce Sloman.

The funeral service for Rev. Gerald Owen Sloman will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. LaBron Carson, Rev. Colt Deems, Rev. Tim Deems and Rev. Anthony Campbell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family of Rev. Sloman will receive family and friends on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family is accepting flowers; however, donations can be made to the Friendship Baptist Church c/o David Sloman, 13 Elm Street, Aragon, Georgia 30104.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Carey Pilgrim, Charlie Stroup, Austin Carver, Brent Sloman, Doug Burnette and Benjamin McClain.
