Mr. George Emory Hughes, age 71 of Cedartown, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014. He was born on November 15, 1942 in Van Wert, Georgia. He was the son of the late Jim Hughes and Fronnie Barrett Hughes.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Doris Faye Womack Hughes; sons and daughter-in-laws, Gene and Laurie Hughes and Tommy and Ginny Hughes; grandchildren, Trey Hughes, Brooke Hughes, and Will Hughes; great granddaughter, Camryn McDowell; sisters, Susan Ashley, Mary Ann Shope, and Linda Armstrong.

Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Hughes will be conducted on Monday, March 3, 2014 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the Gammage Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Dr. Ed Wadsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Hughes will receive family and friends on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Genile Winslett, Neil Short, Ron Casey, Stephen Casey, Mike Lester, and Craig McDonald.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. George Emory Hughes.
