Mr. George Fields, age 77, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. He was born July 28, 1932 in Pickens County, Georgia.
Mr. Fields was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Fields was the Maintenance Supervisor for Cobb County School System for a number of years. He was also employed for thirty-two years by the Marietta Coca-Cola Bottling Company as their Special Events Manager.
Mr. Fields is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Parker Fields; parents, Paul and Nancy Lindsey Fields; and brothers, Paul Fields and Franklin Fields.
Mr. Fields is survived by son, Rodney Fields; daughters, Susan Woods and Lynn Pyles; and brother, John Fields. Grandchildren, Tim Overstreet, Chris Overstreet, Jeff Overstreet, Angela Fields, Cole Fields, and Chance Hall and three great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral for Mr. George Fields will be conducted on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel, 8855 S. Main St., Woodstock, Georgia with Dr. Daniel R. Barton officiating.
The interment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park, 120 Memorial Dr., Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009.
The family will receive friends at the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home in Cedartown on Thursday, September 10th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the Woodstock Funeral Home on Friday, September 11th from Noon until the funeral hour.
