Rev. Frederick H. Rowell, age 73 of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016. He was born on April 7, 1943 in Cedartown. He was the son of the late Winford B. and Elizabeth Rhinehart Rowell.

Rev. Rowell is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia O'Bryant Rowell; daughter, Ansley Rowell Jones (Lester); sons, Anthony S. Rowell (Jill) and Patrick B. Rowell (Laura); brother, Kenneth Rowell (Diane) and seven grandchildren, Madison Jones, Mitchell Jones, Samantha Rowell, Connor Rowell, Cassidy Rowell, John Patrick (JP) Rowell and Ruth Anne Rowell. He loved his family and was thrilled to spend time with them golfing and fishing.

Fredrick served as pastor at Hillside Mission of First Baptist Church and New Harmony Baptist Church, both in Cedartown, GA. In addition, he also pastored Mt. Moriah Baptist (Mt. Eden, KY), Walker Baptist (Monroe, GA), Sherwood Forest (Rome, GA), New Hope (Summerville, GA), Kingsland First Baptist (Kingsland, GA) and Green Acres Baptist (Athens, GA).

Following his last full-time pastorate at Green Acres Baptist, Fredrick determined he was not yet ready for retirement. He next became the Associational Missionary for the Apalachee-Morgan Counties Baptist churches, finally retiring in October of 2015. Over the last ten years, he has also poured his time, energy and love into involvement with the Penfield Ministry, helping raise many thousands of dollars to aid their efforts in battling Alcohol and Drug addiction.

Fredrick was a rare and special jewel who influenced lives far and wide. He loved God, he loved his family, he loved his friends and he loved his dog Cubby Bear. His love of life permeated everything he did and all those he crossed paths with.

The funeral arrangements for Rev. Frederick H. Rowell will be conducted on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at four o'clock in the afternoon at New Harmony Baptist Church.

The family of Rev. Rowell will receive family and friends on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

In keeping with Rev. Rowell's wishes' he will be cremated after the funeral service.
