Mr. Fred Bunyan Woodward, age 88 of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. He was born on October 11, 1922 in Cedartown, he is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David King and Beulah Labelle Hackney Woodward.
Mr. Woodward served in the United States Navy during WWII. After serving in the navy, Fred then worked for the Georgia Department of Labor as a manager.
Mr. Woodward is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mrs. Zelia Ann Grimes Woodward; daughters, Freda Nichols and Traci Woodward; sister, Jessie Gammage; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Woodward is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene Shedd, Nell Brophy, Edith Barrett and Mary Smith and brother, Thomas "Sam" Woodward.
The funeral service for Mr. Woodward will be conducted on Friday, March 25, 2011 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Gene Beck officiating.
Interment will follow in the Northview cemetery with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.
The family of Mr. Woodward will receive friends on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Barry Owen, Barton Lott, Paul Beck, Jeremy Holland, Shane Beck, Frank Lott, William Cromer and Conner Bagley.
