Mr. Fred Eugene Brumit, age 78, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. He was born on June 23, 1933 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Margie Eugenia Baldwin Brumit.

Mr. Brumit was a veteran of the United States Air Force and United States Navy.

Mr. Brumit is survived by his daughter, Dianne Locklear; sons, Ronnie Brumit and Kris Brumit; grandchildren, Chandra Rountree, Mistee Lambert, Jonathan Brumit, Julie Brumit; great-grandchildren, Bryan Lambert, Serena Fortenberry, Karissa Lambert, Derek Rountee, Abbi Rountree, Patience Rountree. Great-great grandchildren, Joy McFarland, Cecil Fortenberry, Adrienne Lambert, Isaac Lambert, Elizabeth Fortenberry and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Brumit is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mrs. Pearlie Mae Wiggins Brumit; son, Timothy Jerome Brumit and brothers, Stanley Brumit and Larry Brumit.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Brumit will be conducted on Friday, November 4, 2011 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Guyton and Mr. Herbert Rountree officiating.

Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Full Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #86.

The family of Mr. Brumit will receive family and friends on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Edward Eason, Robert Rountree, Dalton Fortenberry, Al Sharp, Herbert Rountree and Danny Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnathon Brumit, Mike Lambert, Bryan Lambert, Derek Rountree, Paul Rountree and Britt Earwood.
