Mr. Franklin Wilson, age 81, of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. He was born on July 12, 1932 in Polk County. Franklin was raised by his late grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff and Etta Wilson.
Mr. Wilson retired from the transportation department of Polk County and was a long time member of Wimberly Baptist Church here in Cedartown.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Delma Smith Wilson; daughters, Kathy Hunter, Paula Stanley and Susan Walley and four grandchildren, Matt Hunter, Brett Hunter, Richard Stanley and Sara Stanley.
Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Mann Wilson.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Wilson will be conducted on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Wright and Rev. Jerome Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Wilson will receive family and friends on Friday, December 20, 2013 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Larry Stubbs, Ted Stroup, Robert Flippo, Wayne Wood, Shain Wood and Larry Stroup. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Wilson's grandchildren.
