Mr. David Franklin Roberts, age 70 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014. He was born on April 24, 1944; to the late Mr. Leonard Edward Roberts and Mrs. Lucille Jiles Roberts, in Ten Mile, Tennessee.
Mr. Roberts was a retired educator, from the Polk County School system.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Jean Minton Roberts; daughters, Vanessa Roberts Arp and Davinna Danette Reeves; sisters, Betty Roberts Johnson, Joy Roberts Gibson, LaDonna Roberts Hyde, Sheila Roberts Harvey, and Linda Roberts Guisinger; brothers, Ernest Roberts, Henry Elmer Roberts, Lonnie Roberts, Samuel Lebbaeus "Sam" Roberts, Thomas Roberts, and Daniel Roberts; grandchildren DeWayne Carter, Darren Carter, and Kenzie Reeves. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Roberts is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Thelma Roberts and Virginia Roberts Sherlin; and granddaughter, Marla Darlene Carter.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Roberts will be conducted on Saturday,
December 27, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon at The Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Holbrook officiating and eulogies being delivered by his grandchildren. Interment will follow in the Morning View Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Roberts will receive family and friends on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 7pm until 9pm, and on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from noon until the funeral hour.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, DeWayne Carter, Darren Carter, Todd Lewis, Josh Tucker, Mike Arp, and Aaron Wilson; with Tim Taylor, Edwin Fannin, Ken Jolly, Tim Greene, Jacob Lepard, Nathan Rowland, and Mark Wilson; serving as honorary pallbearers.
Flowers are being accepted; however, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Mr. Roberts honor.
