Mr. Franklin Charles Carter, age 72, of Rome, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008. He was born February 8, 1936 in Paulding County, GA.

Family survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Gina and David Greer; son, Jimmy Hampton; nephews, Tony Carter, Scott Carter, Greg Carter, and Mark Carter; nieces, Sue Wiesner, Donna Cole, and Vickie Carter. Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Richard Carter and Willie T. Shelton Carter; step-mother, Joetta Carter; wife, Dolleen Clay Carter; brothers, Donald Richard Carter, Bobby Gene Carter, Tommy Carroll Carter, and Kenneth Carter.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8th, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mr. Franklin Charles Carter will be conducted on Tuesday, December 9th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Tony Carter, Greg Carter, Scott Carter, David Greer, David Clay, and Danny Clay will serve as pallbearers.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Franklin Charles Carter.
