Frank “Bud”
Lott
Nov 13, 1939 — Dec 12, 2023
Mr. Frank (Bud) Lott, age 84 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. He was born on November 13, 1939 in Canton, Georgia. He was the son of the late Frank "Red" Lott and Edna Florence Barton Lott.
Frank was a man of many interests. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was also a devoted public servant, running for and being elected to local office several times, spending many years serving as a Polk County Commissioner. Even after working at his chemist job all day, he would spend hours on the phone most nights (usually to the dismay of Billie Sue because his dinner was getting cold) listening to the thoughts and concerns of his constituents and trying to do what was best for the citizens of Polk County. He was diplomatic but also a straight shooter, a trait he seems to have passed on to his children. He enjoyed working on his farm with the many cows, horses, chickens, roosters, dogs, cats, skunks, etc. that made the farm their home over the years. He was an animal lover which is something else he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He, Billie Sue and some family friends bred English Bulldogs for a bit and he had some fabulous and hilarious stories that came from those ventures. He was a great conversationalist with a wide range of knowledgeand was always a joy to visit with. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Lott served in the US Army Reserves. He retired from GEO Chemicals as a Chemist; he was on the board of the County Commissioners for 24 years, and he lettered in track at West Georgia.
Mr. Lott is survived by his daughter, Neeve Owen (Barry); son, Barton Lott (Julie); son-in-law, David Adams; grandchildren, Lindsey Landrum (Jody), Mary Ella Owen (TJ), Logan Adams, and Dori Owen; and great-grandchildren, Carter Landrum, Walker Landrum, and Isla Montgomery.
Mr. Lott is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie Sue Grimes Lott; daughter, Leslei Lott Adams; and sister, Tessie Peyton.
