Mrs. Frances Moncrief Powell, age 85, of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016. She was born on October 28, 1930. She was the daughter of the late William Edgar and Rosa Mae Moncrief.

Mrs. Powell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Van Powell Jr. (Jeannene); daughters, Sherry Tracy (Morgan), Cathy Smith (Aaron), Kay Ayer (Richard); grandchildren Leah Tracy Brandon, Kara Lawrence (Steve), Brad Tracy, Carrie Graham (Kevin), Alex Powell (Leslie), Cody Powell, ShiAnne Wilkins (David), Jake Ayer, Hunter Ayer and Raven Ayer and great-grandchildren Drake, Devin, Lydia, Tate, Emily and Daniel. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Powell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Van Powell Sr. and sister, Ruby Moncrief Holland.

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Frances M. Powell will be conducted on Monday, March 28, 2016 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Cedartown Church of Christ with minister Ed Lee and minister Jeff Adams officiating. Mrs. Powell will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Powell will receive family and friends on Sunday, March 27, 2016 from six o'clock till nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Van Powell, Alex Powell, Cody Powell, Jake Ayer, Hunter Ayer and Brad Tracy. Honorary pallbearers will be: Morgan Tracy, Aaron Smith, Richard Ayer, Steve Lawrence, Drake Brandon, David Wilkins, Kevin Graham, Larry Bentley, Greg Carter, Ricky Mathis, Billy Joe Lewis and Nick Delaro.

Flowers are being accepted, however memorial donations can be made to the Cedartown Church of Christ in Mrs. Powell's honor.
