Mrs. Fay Earnest Elliott, age 66 of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014. She was born on March 22, 1948 in Cedartown. She was the daughter of the late Jack Earnest and Iris Williamson Earnest.
Fay was a retired English teacher at Cedartown High School with 33 years of service. She was beloved by everyone that knew her. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Cedartown. She was a loving wife, sister, friend and mother of her two "babies", Dexter and Dusty; she loved people and life in general. She was a selfless person who had a high standard of integrity and moral values. She had been employed with 301 Main "Holmes for Her" for 10 years.
Mrs. Elliott is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Doug Elliott; twin sister and brother-in-law, Kay Earnest Myers and CB Myers; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David Elliott and Jane; three nephews and two nieces.
Mrs. Elliott is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack Earnest.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Fay Elliott will be conducted on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Cedartown with Dr. David Taylor, Rev. Wayne Benefield and Rev. Jack Gantt officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Fay Elliott will receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from five o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The follow gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; CB Myers, Ryan Earnest, Yancey Moore, Olin Hackney, Dicky Chandler and Bruce Casey. Honorary pallbearers will be Chip Barrow, First Baptist Church Choir, Retired Cedartown High School Teachers and the 301 Main Girls.
Flowers are being accepted; however memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284 or the Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, GA 30318.
