Obituary

Mr. Ewell Sanford Carr, age 71, of Cave Spring, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007. He was born June 1, 1935 in Fulton County, Georgia to the son of E. Sanford Carr and Annie Mae Terry Carr.

Mr. Ewell Carr was a member of The First Baptist Church of Cedartown where he was a Deacon and The Keystone Sunday School Class Teacher. He was Co-Owner and Vice President of Cedartown Paperboard for twenty-three years. Mr. Carr was a past president of the Cedartown Exchange Club and past president of the Polk County Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Carr is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Sanford Carr.

Mr. Ewell Sanford Carr is survived by wife, Shirley Cordle Carr; son and daughter-in-law, Barry Carr and Kathy Carr; daughters and sons-in-law, Joan Hunt and Allen Hunt, Cathy Walker and Phil Walker, Vicki Reed and Dan Reed; grandchildren, Kasey Carr, Kendal Carr and Kim Carr, Sam Hunt, Ben Hunt and Van Hunt; Haley Campbell McConkey and her husband Roger McConkey, Carrly Campbell, Ridge Walker, Richelyn Reed and Austin Reed; aunts, Marge Regenstein and Johnnie Drummond; chosen brother, Don Bishop and his wife Marie Bishop.

The funeral service for Mr. Ewell Sanford Carr will be conducted on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Cedartown with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. The interment service will follow at Oaknoll Cemetery in Rome, Georgia.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6 from
6:00pm until 8:00pm at Olin Gammage & Sons Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Julian Norris, Reed Freeman, J. T. Lewis, Benton McKenzie, William McGee and Joel Robinson.

Honorary pallbearers are members of The First Baptist Church Keystone Sunday School Class.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers be omitted however donations may be made to The First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 720, Cedartown, GA 30125 or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Georgia Chapter, 3715 Northside Parkway, Bldg. 400, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30327.
