Ms. Evelyn Ward Owens, age 97 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025.  She was born on October 23, 1927 in Aragon.  She was the daughter of the late James H. and Samantha Folds Ward.

Ms. Owens is survived by her sons, Lamar Owens (Gaynell) and Keith Owens (Teresa);  grandchildren, Donnie Marr (Virginia), Anthony Marr, Chris Owens (Stacy), Heath Owens (Johnna), and Dena Stroup (Jason); 16 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; special great-niece, Leslie Ellenburg; and special friends, Mary Trigalown and Texi Anne Broadway.

Ms. Owens is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Zelma Duke, Lillie Edwards, and Etoy McGoon; brothers, Raymond Ward, JW Ward, and Dewey Ward; and grandson, Dr. Christopher Marr.

The funeral arrangements for Ms. Owens will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Grant and Rev. Danny Rhodes officiating.  Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family of Ms. Owens will receive family and friends on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from twelve o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Chris Owens, Heath Owens, Bodee Owens, Jason Stroup, Anthony Marr and Donnie Marr.  Honorary pallbearers will be, Douglas Edwards, Houston Edwards, Jimmy Ward, and Sonny Ward.

The family is accepting flowers; however, donations can also be made to Traditions Hospice Group, 497 Rome Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.  The family would also like express their deep appreciation for the care and love Traditions Hospice showed to our mother.
