Mr. Eugene Talmadge "Chief"Cauthen, age 86, of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021.  He was born on March 31, 1935 in Polk County.  He was the son of the late Arthur Samuel and Vassie Batchler Cauthen.

Mr. Cauthen is survived by his son, Neal David Cauthen; grandchildren, Brandon Buckner, Michelle Morris, Andy Cauthen, and Megan Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey Buckner, Harper Morris, Gage Morris, Kiley Cauthen, Kinsley Cauthen, Kelsey Cauthen, and Livie Grace Hunter.

Mr. Cauthen is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Alice Crocker Cauthen; daughter, Amy Michelle Buckner; five brothers, and one sister.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Eugene Talmadge Cauthen will held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Welchel officiating.  Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Cauthen will receive family and friends on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from one o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Ricky Sorrells, Lee Wilkerson, Scooter Stephens, Felix White, Norman Sadler, and Brett Hunter.
