Ms. Ethel Helen Mangum Runyon, age 75 of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. She was born on October 30, 1939 in White County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Mangum, Sr. and Annie May Hyde Mangum.
Ms. Runyon was a long time member of Mountain Home Baptist Church and she retired from Tip-Top in Rockmart and Polk County Nursing Home in Cedartown.
Ms. Runyon is survived by her sons; Wayne Lee Runyon, Jr. and Bruce Meade; daughters, Connie Moody and Melissa Rayburn; grandson, Justin David Runyon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Howard and Joanne Ferguson and several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Runyon is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Lee Runyon, Sr.; son, Bryan Keith Runyon; sisters, Ann Garner, Martha Grizzle, Victoria Romine, Zula Ferguson and Clara Marie Mangum; brothers, John Brock, Edward Brock, Marrian Mangum, Harry Mangum, Milton Mangum and Arthur Mangum, Jr.
The funeral arrangements for Ms. Runyon will be conducted on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. George Nix and Rev. Anthony Trawick officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.
The family of Ms. Runyon will receive family and friends on Friday, January 9, 2015 from five o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
Flowers are being accepted; however, memorial donations can be made to Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, 225 S. Philpot Street, Cedartown, GA 30125.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Rusty Mundy, Johnny Carter, Randy Puckett, Bruce Meade, Josh Runyon and Joel Runyon. Honorary pallbearers will be Milly Ware, Deborah Cook, Caroline Jenkins, Shirley Puckett, Maxine Ore, Betty Stitt and Emma Montgomery.
