Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Colquitt Godwin, age 93 of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. She was born on June 23, 1921 in Polk County. She was the daughter of the late John T and Annie Lidelle West Colquitt.

Mrs. Godwin is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Joel) Robinson, Susan (Robin) Acree and Laura (Wayne) Smith; sisters, Ruth C. Owings, Catherine C. Shackelford and Frances P. Colquitt and grandchildren, Jeff (Kathy) Johnson, Melinda (Kenneth) Ferguson, Angie (Don) Davis, Todd Acree, Anna (Brad) Mikes, Ryan and Annie Acree and Mary Katherine (Ted) Stryk; 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great- grandchildren.

Mrs. Godwin is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George P. Godwin; sisters, Nelle C. Casey and Sara C. Wray and brothers, John T Colquitt and Joe E. Colquitt.

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Godwin will be conducted on Friday, May 15, 2015 at eleven o'clock in the morning at the First Baptist Church of Cedartown with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Godwin will receive family and friends on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from six o'clock in evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Flowers are being accepted; however, memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Cedartown Memorial Fund, 101 N. College Street, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jeff Johnson, Todd Acree, Ryan Acree, Joey Colquitt, Justin Redding and Larry Godwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Ferguson, Don Davis, Brad Mikes, Ted Stryk, Adam Johnson, Jake Benefield, Mrs. Godwin's nephews and the staff at Winthrop at Polk.
