Mr. Edward Donald Shiflett, age 83, of Summerville, South Carolina, formerly of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011. He was born on July 9, 1928 in Cedartown.

Mr. Shiflett was a veteran of the United States Air Force for 23 years. He then graduated from the University of Georgia with an Electrical Engineer degree.

Mr. Shiflett is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Robin Shifltett and wife Robin and Tony Shiflett; two grandchildren, Jason Farmer and Josh Shiflett and three great-grandchildren, Kelli, Amber and Austin Farmer.

Mr. Shiflett is preceded in death by his father, Harbin Whiter; mother, Dorothy Shiflett; wife, Helen Frances Rogers Shiflett and daughter, Vikki Ward.

A graveside service for Mr. Shiflett will be conducted on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at three o'clock in the afternoon at Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Rebecca Holmes officiating.

The family of Mr. Shiflett will receive family and friends on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from twelve o'clock (noon) until 2:30 pm at Gammage Funeral Home.

The Robins Air Force Base Honor Detail will conduct full Military Rites and serve as pallbearers.
