Mr. Edward Bruce Hackney, age 88, of Cedartown, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016. He was born on January 23, 1928 in Cedartown, Georgia. He was the son of the late Paul and Beulah Hackney.

Mr. Hackney is survived by his granddaughter Jennifer Hackney Moss (Andrew) and grandson Andrew Johnathan Hackney; great-granddaughter Mary Leonard Moss; and girlfriend Estelle Clinton; Several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hackney is preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Magdeline Hackney; son Gary Bruce Hackney; sisters Augusta Dingler and Evelyn Gary; brothers Charlie Hackney and Henry Hall Hackney.

The funeral service for Mr. Edward Bruce Hackney will be conducted on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 2:30 in the afternoon at Pine Bower Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Kiser and Rev. W.A. Ivie officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Bower Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Hackney will receive family and friends on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from one o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral service hour at Pine Bower Baptist Church.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Chris Ivie, Allen Ivie, Ethan Scoggin, Allen Scoggin, Tommy Jack Britt and Frankie Atkins.

The Pine Bower Adult Men's Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers for Mr. Hackney's funeral service.
