Mrs. Edna Earle Whitton Grogan, age 84, of Cedartown passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009. She was born March 15, 1924 in Haralson County, the daughter of the late Wylie Frank Whitton and Leekie Brown Whitton.
She was a dedicated member of The Second Baptist Church in Cedartown where she was involved in numerous ministries of the church. She was a member of and served as secretary for the Ladies II Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Edna Earle Grogan is survived by children, Kirby Glenn (Butch) Grogan, Danny Ray Grogan, and Beth Grogan Alexander. Six Grandchildren, seven Great-Grandchildren, and a special niece, Judy Camp Sloman also survive.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Walter Louis Grogan, brothers and sisters, Lois Whitton Camp, Jud Whitton, Sara Whitton Camp, Selden Whitton, and Kirby Whitton.
The funeral service for Mrs. Edna Earle Grogan will be conducted on Thursday, February 26th, at 2:00 p.m. at The Second Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Latham officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers are Jason Ward, Elex Jarrell, Jamie Holland, Howard Tanner, Kenneth Shelley, and Sonny Alexander.
The family will receive friends preceding the funeral service on Thursday, 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., at the Second Baptist Church.
The family has respectfully requested that flowers be omitted. Donations may be made to Second Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Union, 44 Evergreen Lane, Cedartown, GA 30125.
