Mrs. Edith Almer Mobbs Kines, age 81, of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010. She was born in Rockmart on August 15, 1928, the daughter of Ralph D. and Lela Nixon Mobbs, both deceased.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Kines is preceded in death by first husband, Elmer Glaze and second husband, Rev. Grady Kines; sister, Irene Hill; brothers, Robert Mobbs and Harvey Lee Mobbs.
Mrs. Kines is survived by step-daughters, Beth Kines Moore and Nell Kines Dingler; brothers, Rev. Marvin Mobbs (Faye), Houston Mobbs (Beatrice), John L. Mobbs (Frances); sisters, Josephine Ingram, Margie O'Neal (Henry), Joann Gable (Billy), Patricia Mobbs. Step-grandchildren, Lance Moore, Allison Moore Kelly, Heather Moore Scott, Lena Dingler Schaffer, Milda Dingler Burgan, Laurie Dingler Murray; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Edith Mobbs Kines will be conducted on Thursday, May 20th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Latham and Rev. James Glaze officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 19th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Lance Moore, Shawn Mobbs, Russell Mobbs, Kevin Mobbs, DeWayne Williams, Chris Mobbs, and Warren Mobbs. Honorary pallbearers are Sammy Pointer, John Pointer, Carlise Pointer, Allen Malone, and Dale Gable.
