Mr. Doyce Neil Vinson, Sr., age 79 of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015. He was born on September 1, 1936. He was the son of the late Pete Vinson and Mary Yarbrough Vinson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Cal B. Vinson.
Mr. Vinson is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Dover Vinson; daughters, DeMyra Vinson, Tamra Cook (Clint) and Velma Vinson (Johnny Hutcheson); son, Doyce Vinson, Jr. (DeMaris); three grandchildren, Jerry Baker (Jamie), Jessi Doyle and Rachel Ellis (Jonathan); four great grandchildren, Seven Baker, Waylon Baker, Adaline Ellis and Clint Ellis; sisters, Laura Lindsay and Fay Bridges; brothers, Ed Vinson and Jerry Vinson and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Vinson will be conducted on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Vines and Dr. Robert Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Brewster Cleveland Post #86 Honor Guard.
The family of Mr. Vinson will receive family and friends on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from one o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jerome Bentley, Jason Bentley, W.L. Vinson, Lyle Vinson, Tony Jenkins, Steve Arrington, Roy Robinson, L.D. Irvin, and Jeff Oliver. Honorary Pallbearers are Harold Tanner and Troy Dobbs.
