Mrs. Dorothy Dobbs Taffar, age 91, of Cedartown passed away Monday, February 4, 2008. She was born January 10, 1917 in Polk County.

She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Cedartown where she was a member of the Ladies' Sunday School Class and W.M.U. and a former Children's Department Sunday School teacher. She also belonged to the Polk County Historical Society and AARP.

Mrs. Taffar is preceded in death by husband, Wayne C. Taffar; parents, Fred and Lula Cox Dobbs and brother, Fred Dobbs, Jr.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James and Joy Taffar of Wake Forest, NC, and Fred and Gail Taffar of Cedartown; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Taffar will be conducted on Wednesday, February 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Scott Taffar, Todd Taffar, Mark Taffar, Jeff Taffar, Michael Lee, and Matt Diehl.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Children's Area Renovation, P. O. Box 720, Cedartown, GA 30125.
