Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Spencer, age 86, of Raleigh, NC, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012. She was born February 8, 1926 in Cedartown, GA, the daughter of the late Early Rogers, Sr. and Shirley Crocker Rogers.

She was retired from the Chrysler Corp. in Huntsville, AL

Mrs. Spencer is survived by daughter, Iris Elaine Spencer and sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Amos Surrett. One grandson, Spencer Potter, several nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hueston J. Spencer; sisters, Mary Rogers Hill, Helen Rogers Shiflett; brother, Early Rogers, Jr.

The graveside service for Mrs. Dorothy Spencer will be conducted on Saturday, September 8th, at 11 o'clock in the morning at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Leon Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at Gammage Funeral Home from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to a church of your choice or Feed the Children, P. O. Box 36, Oklahoma, OK 73101 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, P. O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38138.
