Ms. Dorothy May Shaw Barkwell, age 81, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013. She was born on December 16, 1931 in Polk County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Boyce Shaw and Mrs. Eva Turner Shaw.

Ms. Barkwell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Mary Ann Barkwell; granddaughters, Kelly Barkwell and Erin Barkwell; sister, Eleanor Trantham; and aunt, Kate Benefield.

Ms. Barkwell is preceded in death by her parents; and spouse, Joe E. Barkwell.

A Graveside Funeral Service for Ms. Barkwell will be conducted on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at two o'clock in the afternoon at Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Buttram officiating.

Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family of Ms. Barkwell will receive family and friends on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from five o'clock in the evening until seven o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 for one hour prior to the graveside service beginning at one o'clock in the afternoon.
