Mrs. Dorothy May Owens Howard, age 81 of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was born on August 25, 1935 in Tallapoosa, Georgia to the late Mr. Junious "Junebug" Owens and Mrs. Flessie Miller Owens.
Mrs. Dorothy was a member of Dugdown Baptist Church for many years; she loved the Lord. She was a homemaker that enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Howard is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Howard Dempsey and Randy; sisters, Betty Lou Hindman and Jeannette Gray; brother, Jerry Owens and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Howard is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Harold Howard; sisters, Ruby Nell Gibson and Mary Boyce and brothers, Carl Owens, Bobby Owens and Elmer Owens.
The funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Howard will be held on, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Hudgins and Rev. Wayne Pike officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Dorothy May Owens Howard will receive family and friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The family has requested that all flowers are to be omitted.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Gene Hindman, David Hindman, Jamie Hudgins, Bobby Gravley, Greg Howard and James Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers will be Owen Hudgins and Randall Hudgins.
