Ms. Dorothy Vernon Hampton Landers, age 93 of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014. She was born on August 2, 1921 in Haralson County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Hampton and Mary Agnes Weaver Hampton. Ms. Landers had been a long time resident of Cedartown, Georgia, Jacksonville, Florida and Rome, Georgia.

Ms. Landers is survived by her daughter, Freda Landers Holt; grandchildren, Heather Holt Rathbun and Frank B. Holt, IV and great-grandchildren, Kane Bearden, Lyla Nichole Holt, Destiny Skye Rathbun and Riley Benton Holt.

Ms. Landers is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Cornelius Landers; son-in-law, Frank B. Holt, III and 14 brothers and sisters of the Hampton family.

A "Back To Our Roots & Old Fashion Attire" graveside service for Ms. Landers will be conducted on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at four o'clock in the afternoon at the Northview Cemetery with Rev. Roger Parris officiating.

Flowers are to be omitted and donations can be made to any local animal rescue shelter or a charity of your choice.
