Mr. Donald Henry Malone, age 77, of Mableton, Georgia, formerly of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 after an extended illness. He was born May 11, 1933 in Polk County, the son of the late Alvin Henry and Belle Brazier Malone.

Mr. Malone was a proud veteran of the Korean War. After the Korean War, he enjoyed a career in insurance sales and was retired from American National Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mableton, Georgia.

Mr. Malone is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Martha Dempsey Malone; two daughters and sons-in-law, LaDean and Ray Benefield of Bowdon, Georgia and Donna and Rex Burgess of Woodstock, Georgia; and one step- grandson, Justin Didona; sisters, Ruby and husband Earl Tinney of Trion, Georgia, Allene Lockridge of Cedartown, Georgia and Mary Lee Teal of Dallas, Georgia; brothers, James Malone, of Cedartown, Georgia and Charles Malone of Dallas, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, Ruth Campbell.

Mr. Malone is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Henry and Belle Brazier Malone; brothers-in-law, Douglas Teal and Hib Lockridge; sister-in-law, Jean Malone and special friend, Earl Campbell of Corryton, Tennessee.

Mr. Malone's funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dave York, Rev. Royce Campbell, Rev. Carl Partain and Col. Jim Glaze officiating.

Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Brewster Cleveland American Legion Post # 86 honor guard.

The family of Mr. Malone will receive friends on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 6-9 pm at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Teal, Steve Teal, Allen Malone, Brad Malone, Jimmy Malone and Ricky McKibben.
