Mrs. Dolleen Clay Carter, age 64, of Rome, formerly of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2008. She was born May 14, 1944 in Polk County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Clay.

She is survived by husband, Frank Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Gina and David Greer; son, Jimmy Hampton; sister, Delilah Hindmon; brothers, David Clay, Danny Clay, Don "Bubba" Clay. Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

Mrs. Dolleen Carter is preceded in death by parents, Virgil and Ruth Patterson Clay and brother, Doug Clay.

The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 9, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Tony Carter, Greg Carter, Scott Carter, Kirt Clay, Jeff Clay and John Clay.
