Mr. Dewie Edward Forrister, age 82 of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016. He was born on April 15, 1933 in Piedmont, Alabama. He was the son of the late Arthur and Emily Prior Forrister.

Mr. Forrister is survived by his wife, Glenda Boothe Forrister; daughter, Renee Shanks; son, Lonnie Forriester; step-mother, Sarah Forriester; sisters, Judy Forrister, Teresa Forrister, Rachael Medley, and Linda Forrister; brothers, James Forrister, Howard Forrister and Franklin Forrister; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Forrister is preceded in death by his parents; son, Laron Forrister; sisters, Karen Knolls, Langley Studdards, Ellen Forrister; and brothers, Curtis Forrister, Floyd Forrister, Arthur Forrister Jr., and Edward Forriester.

A graveside service for Mr. Dewie Edward Forrister will be conducted on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at four o'clock in the afternoon at Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating and with Full Military Rites conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Post #86 Honor Guard.

The family of Mr. Forrister will receive family and friends on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from two o'clock in the afternoon until the graveside hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
