Mr. Delmer Hoyt Hobbs, Age 78, of West John Hand Road, Cedartown, passed away April 6, 2005. He was born on July 30, 1926 in Haralson County to the late J.B. and Dassie Agan Hobbs.
Mr. Hobbs was owner and operator of Hobbs T.V. for 40 Years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cedartown, and an Army Veteran of World War II having served during the Occupation of Japan.
Mr. Hobbs is preceded in death by his 1st Wife, Martha Shellhorse Hobbs, and a Daughter, Rita Hobbs Henderson.
He is survived by his Wife, Bonita Sutton Hobbs, Son and Daughter-in-Law, John Randolf "Randy" and Cathy Hobbs of Manchester, Tennessee, Son, Roger Edward Hobbs of Cedartown, Georgia, a Step Son, John Ralph "Mac" McCarson of Cave Spring, Georgia, Step Daughter and her Husband, LeighAnn McCarson and Kirk Adams of Oakwood, Georgia, Step Daughter and her Husband, Susan Dea McCarson and Jim Chandler of Villa Rica, Step Daughter and her Husband, Bonnie Rachel "Rae" McCarson and her Husband Brett Varon, of Simi Valley, California, a Brother and his Wife, Odell and Lillian Hobbs of Cedartown, Georgia. Also surviving are 5 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, 6 Step Grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 7th from 7:00PM until 9:00PM at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Hobbs will be conducted Friday, April 8th at 2:00PM in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Internment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Randy Hobbs Jr., Jason Henderson, Christopher Correll, Carson Ellis, Stephen Adams, and Adam Grogan. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Paul Henderson II, Scott Henderson and Brandon Atkins.
